One of our Centre for Advanced Training Level 2 students, Alissa Armes Green, has recently found out the very exciting news that she has been accepted into The Hammond and has been awarded a coveted Music and Dance Scheme Award for Exceptional Potential in Dance, which will cover 100% of the fees.
The Hammond, based in Cheshire, is the leading provider of Performing Arts education, including dance and singing, in the North West.
Alissa will begin her studies in September 2015 and will be joining Year 8. Alissa has been with the DanceEast Centre for Advanced Training since 2013, and is a South East Ballet Scholar. She also trains with Laura Gillingham at Linda Shipton Dance School and Jo Linford, both based in Ipswich.
During her time at The Hammond School, Alissa will continue her academic studies whilst taking a five year dance training course based on classical ballet. Her training will also include classes in modern, jazz, tap and contemporary, pilates, drama and singing.
‘Alissa has worked incredibly hard to achieve such a coveted place at the Hammond – we are incredibly proud of her attainment. She manages to balance the demands of dance training both here at the CAT, and at her private dance schools, whilst working hard at school and that is no easy feat for a young person. We wish her every success in her onward dance training – we are thrilled to have helped her reach her goals. ‘– Elsa Urmston (Centre for Advanced Training Manager)
We wish you the best of luck on the start of this incredible journey, Alissa!
