Inspired by Britten’s response to the sound world of the gamelan in The Prince of the Pagodas, young people from different groups around Suffolk have worked to create new pieces. From the north of the county, Aldeburgh Music’s Fludde Choir will perform alongside students from Lowestoft Sixth Form College to create a vocal gamelan, working with beatboxers Testament and Jason Singh. From the south, young people from DanceEast’s Suffolk Youth Dance Company will create their response through dance, working with choreographer Sarah Lewis.
