This GCSE Workshop Day is a great opportunity for dance students to work with two professional companies from the AQA GCSE Dance Anthology: StopGap and James Cousins. Students will attend both workshops throughout the day and have the chance to learn from industry professionals and ask questions ahead of their GCSE exams.
StopGap artists Laura Jones and Siobhan Hayes will be delivering an in depth look into the AQA GCSE Dance Anthology set work – Artificial Things. The workshop will start with a contemporary dance class and include learning repertory from Artificial Things, as well as exploring creative tasks the company used when creating the piece.
Based on Within Her Eyes, the workshop content has been designed by the company in collaboration with experienced GCSE dance teachers to make clear links to the GCSE specification. Students can watch James Cousins Company perform his new piece of work, Rosalind, at DanceEast on Friday 5 May.
