Fiddler on the Roof is set in Tsarist Russia in 1905.
The story follows a milkman and father of five, Tevye as he tries to uphold tradition in an ever changing political and social landscape. During a period of change for Russian Jews, the family learn to cope with the decline of Tsarist Russia and the tough laws enforced on the family and the village of Anatevka.
The musical is littered with memorable songs such as ‘If I were a Rich Man’ and ‘Matchmaker, matchmaker’ as the audience are taken on a riveting journey, witnessing the power of love against a backdrop of repression and change.
