The Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) offers high-quality training to young people aged 10 – 18 years with exceptional talent and potential in dance. The CAT is part of a national programme supported by the Department for Education’s Music and Dance Scheme.

We offer a range of free workshops for schools, colleges, youth groups and dance schools in key areas throughout the region to inspire students to apply for the DanceEast CAT and to spot any potential talent.

It’s really important that there are no financial barriers to accessing the CAT, therefore means-tested grants are available to support the costs of the programme.

DanceEast Centre for Advanced Training

This world class, non-residential dance programme supports and nurtures gifted and talented young people aged 10 – 18 years who are ready to make a commitment to intensive training in dance.

Supported by the Department for Education, the Centre for Advanced Training offers means tested grants to cover all, or part of, the training.

Graduates can continue to full-time education, with many of them training at conservatoire or universities to study for degrees, diplomas and professional qualifications in dance.
