Rock, Paper, Scissors: The Dance East District project
We are looking for a community group to take part in a really exciting cross-district dance project- no dance experience necessary!
For this project we’ll be working with 9 groups in 3 different Suffolk districts, and in Shotley and Holbrook we’re already working with Holbrook Academy and the Peninsula sports Centre, so we’re now looking for another community group (of any age) to work with.
The project culminates with 2 performance days, one at Dance East on 12 March 2016 and one at The Apex on 22 March 2016. We have eight groups signed up already, most of which haven’t danced before and are a real mix of ages; we have primary schools, older people’s groups and even an adult choir taking part!
A dance artist called Lynette is assigned to this district and she’ll be doing 1-2 sessions with each individual group and then bringing the 3 groups together for a number of rehearsals before the performance- yet to be scheduled.
It’s FREE for community groups to take part, and we can help with transport. Any group that takes part needs to have a venue available to rehearse in, a group leader to support each session and availability on these key dates:
