ANNIE PUI LING LOK
Metaphors We Live By unites sound and dance in a powerful immersive live performance. A unique collaboration between dance artist Annie Pui Ling Lok (Siobhan Davies Dance, Les Ballet C de la B) and sound designer James Dunn (Cafe Oto, Resonance FM, NTS radio), this performance explores the idea of heightening the viewer’s sensory experience of the choreography by moving sound through the space.
The audience is surrounded and disorientated as the sound travels through speakers of varying sizes and sound qualities in the space. The rich and articulate movement performed by Anne-Gaëlle Thiriot & Bettina Carpi builds in layers, evolving and dissolving, resulting in a performance that explores the distortion of meaning and relationships.
