DanceEast in partnership with University of Bedfordshire
Last year the One Dance UK U.Dance National Festival came to the East of England for the first time ever. It was lively, it was full of talent and it was a weekend that still inspires us. This year, for the first time, there will be two Regional Platforms in the East of England – allowing more youth groups the opportunity to take part in the festival. We are honoured to be hosting one of them at the Jerwood DanceHouse, the second will be at the University of Bedfordshire.
The Regional Platforms provide youth groups from all over the East with the opportunity to come together and celebrate youth dance and the impressive progress it’s making. Like the U.Dance National Festival, you can expect energetic evenings with performances from local dance groups and a diverse range of dance styles; there will be something for everyone from these young emerging artists, including a special performance from DanceEast’s very own performance company Boys United.
This is a great opportunity for young dancers to inspire and be inspired, connect and perform, with the chance of being selected to perform at the U.Dance National Festival in London Southbank 20-21 July 2019.
Groups that have been invited to perform at DanceEast include:
Aspire Dance Company (Suffolk)
Cambridge Youth Dance Company
Colchester Sixth Form College #1 Group
Dance Station (Essex Youth Dance Company)
FleX Dance Company (Norfolk)
Jessica Ann School of Dancing (Suffolk)
Karen Louise Youth Dance Company (Suffolk)
Sanskruti (Cambridgeshire)
Advance Dance Company (Hertfordshire) have been invited to perform as guests at the DanceEast Platform after taking part in U.Dance Nationals last year.
