DanceEast brought Chris Nash to Ipswich to work with a group of young photographers and some of the best youth dance talent from the region. DanceEast theatre provided the space for two days exploring techniques for photographing movement in a range of light levels. The result is Reimagining Movement, an exhibition of twenty-one images, supported by the Arts Council of England and coinciding with the celebration of U. Dance 2018 taking place in Ipswich.
I got my first compact camera for my 8th birthday and from then onwards photography started to become a greater interest as I grew up. Completing an Art GCSE and having to support my work with photographs continued to develop my interest in photography, alongside continuing to capture photographs in my free time
I first started taking photographs when I picked photography as one of my GCSE options, since then I have taken it at A level and am considering continuing to study it at a higher level. I am inspired by photographers such as Charlotte Patmore, who shoots bands and fashion based imagery, and Elizaveta Porodina due to her vibrant ever-changing works. [Read more]
Photography has always been an interest of mine. However, my passion grew stronger throughout my time studying art and design at college. I was able to learn a range of new skills and figure out what I like to shoot. I have danced myself since a young age so movement in art comes naturally. [Read more]
Photography has always been a fond hobby of mine and I have used it as a creative outlet particularly in the last five to six years. I am a self taught photographer; when doing media and publicity for various past shows and choreographic projects, I spent a lot of time learning about my sisters camera to be able to take the best pictures possible.
